The Strategic Goals of the Militia(or SG's for our purposes)

1.Returning America to the Original Intent of the Constitution of the United States (COTUS) and the original Bill of Rights (BoR).

2. Setting and promoting a Moral Standard based on belief in God and Common Law.

3. To defend the COTUS and BoR, to defend our right to live a moral life, to defend our persons and property, and when called upon, our communities, States and Nation from enemies foreign or domestic, and provide aid in matters of community welfare. (Lost children, natural or man-made disaster, etc)

What Is The Militia? 

Go look in the mirror and you will have the answer. The militia, contrary to the insistence of the media, is not an "anti-government hate group." It is not a group of uneducated, backwoods, inbred, hicks who date their siblings. It is not made up of malcontents bent on destroying America. Militia members are not misfits; they are not psychologically damaged mental defectives.

They are you...

The unorganized militia is made up of "...all able bodied persons between the ages of 18 and 45..." We are all militia. You, me, your dad, your neighbor, your brother, your sister, your boss, your dry cleaner, the mail man, the stock boy at the grocery store, the cook at your favorite restaurant, and the cable guy are all members of the unorganized militia. You might be asking scratching your head thinking that we don't need a militia...what good can they do anyway. You ask, and I'll answer... It was the unorganized militia that brought down that plane in Pennsylvania on September 11 and prevented it from reaching it's target. Now I'll bet your saying, "What? Huh? That was just ordinary people." My point exactly. Ordinary people are the militia.

Are you interested in doing something other than training for military operations?  Not a problem!!  The Iowa Militia has work for everyone to do.  Anyone that does not fit the Iowa State Law for militia membership or who wishes to perform a non-combat role in the community can still be of service through the Iowa Militia Auxiliary.  See the Auxiliary page for more details.

Get active and Train!

The Iowa Militia is the people in a certain capacity, as defenders of the community and enforcers of the law. In that capacity, they are expected to have and use the tools needed to perform that role: personal weapons, and particularly firearms.
